Bouglione

The Cirque d'Hiver was created on 11 December 1852 thanks to the Duke of Morny, half-brother of Prince Louis-Napoleon, who obtained permission to build, and Jacques Hittorf, its architect. Only a few years later, on November 12, 1859, the circus was illuminated thanks to the "flying trapeze", a trick invented by Toulouse-born Léotard, known as the "flying artist".
